Well, EA and Live get Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards, and now, 2K Sports has their own star for NBA 2K8 : Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets.

The speedy guard will be featured on the cover of the upcoming title, and he brings a pretty impressive list of accomplishments along with him. Paul was a two-time All-American at Wake Forest University, got drafted fourth overall by the Hornets, then moved on to lead all rookies in points, assists, steals, and minutes played during his first season. And of course, everybody wants to have their own video game, so Paul is fittingly excited.

"I'm a big time video gamer and it's a dream come true to be on the cover and represent the next NBA 2K game," Paul said.

NBA 2K8 is scheduled to release some time this fall for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS2. As is generally the case every year, the virtual basketball wars are between EA's NBA Live and 2K's NBA 2K franchises. Paul vs. Arenas!
