The latest Game Informer has hit the racks, and it presents all kinds of major rumors; rumors that are likely to become a major source of debate and controversy in the coming weeks.
First of all, they do have an exclusive first look of a fresh new game, dubbed Prototype , for the PS3 and Xbox 360. They don't have too many details concerning this mysterious title, but they do say more information will soon be published. Then they move on to say a $399 40GB PS3 is in the works, which is yet another rumor that centers on the price and future of Sony hardware. However, the magazine also says they expected to hear the confirmation at E3, which didn't happen, so…we're thinking bogus on that one.
The last rumor isn't good news, even if it's only remotely true. Apparently, the hugely anticipated Final Fantasy XIII is in the midst of some problems right now, and localization is expected to take nearly a year: it won't be available in Japan until the end of 2008. Previously, Square-Enix said they wouldn't be releasing any games on the PS3 until April of next year. We had assumed they were talking about FF XIII, but now, that may not be the case.
As usual, game magazine rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, but even so, these are pretty big. We'll see if anything else concerning this speculation pops up in the immediate future.
