It's an iconic but struggling company.
Now, Sega has asked the million-dollar question of its fans: How can we make our games better?
That's the premise of a new survey they're inviting everyone to take and if you have a soft spot for one of the industry's most important companies, you'll want to participate. In a pretty lengthy survey and it asks you which consoles you've owned in the past, your top three games across all platforms, your favorite genres, etc. It also wants to know about your mobile gaming preferences, which isn't too surprising considering the age in which we live.
Last year, Sega boss Haruki Satomi said the company would like to "win back the trust" of the average gamer and "become a brand once again." If that's going to happen, though, they obviously need your feedback. Seems like a lot of Japanese game developers need that help; Square Enix and Capcom appear perpetually lost in the woods, too, and they may not have enough answers.
Maybe a top-quality new installment in the long-running – but often troubled – Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is just what Sega needs. 2016 represents the 25th anniversary of the legendary mascot and they unveiled a new logo last year , which hinted at the prospect of a new Sonic game.
Other than that, though, what else do you want to see from Sega?
