If it's really true that Konami has to disappear, perhaps it's time to start thinking about the eulogy.

After the news that the Japanese publisher voluntary de-listed itself from the New York Stock Exchange , and after they announced the cancellation of Silent Hills , everyone is wondering:

How much time does Konami have left?

They already parted ways with Hideo Kojima and right now, we're trying to figure out how Konami will stay in business. If they don't, I wonder what will be our fondest memories of the publisher… Sure, there's Metal Gear Solid , which is arguably the company's biggest claim to fame. But there's also the iconic Castlevania series, which – along with another Konami IP, Contra – helped shape action/adventure games in the earliest days of the industry.

Silent Hill is a widely renowned horror franchise and many fans give it credit for maintaining the purity of the survival/horror franchise. And hey, don't forget about other 8-bit classics like Blades of Steel and Double Dribble . Being an old-school RPG fan, Suikoden remains one of my all-time favorite role-playing IPs. So, there's plenty to choose from and I hardly named all of Konami's great franchises.

What's on your list?
