We sorta figured this was coming but it's still annoying.

Sony has been battling to keep the PlayStation Network alive and kicking throughout Christmas Day and currently, as per the PlayStation Support site , the service is down.

They've been aware of the ongoing issues over the past 24 hours or so and they continue to work on those problems. But it's not like Microsoft can gloat; Xbox Live has had trouble with the video and music store and other reported issues have surfaced as well. Looks like the tech powers that be want to cause problems this holiday season but really, who cares? Can't get online on Christmas Day? Gee, that's tough. There has to be something else you'd like to do.

Anyway, keep checking with Sony for updates on the PSN.

Stomp mud holes in these morons arses? Seriously, there are plenty of reasons to tire from these leagues of ddos trolls. On this particular day, it comes at the cost of someone's day wasted on these little donkeys instead of enjoying the day with families and friends.

DISCLAIMER!! This is going to be one nasty post!
***********Read at your own risk*****************
Here is hoping the new year brings death and ruin to these hackers bastards!
Hope they get raped and contract some deadly form of meat eating bacterial infection and die a horribly agonizing death, Cheers!!!!

That's a very fitting punishment.

honestly, its apparently those lizard people again, somebody really should just post out all their personal stuff and just have them killed, the death penalties are way to lenient in the places that matter in this world or just non-existent at all

I'm no fan of the hackers, but seriously people? Wishing death and rape because they disrupted a video game network for a bit? What happened to taking the high road and showing a little christmas spirit?

I mean you could at least make a post that shows a maturity level higher than the hackers.

This is not caused by hackers or DDOS'ers. This is simply mass amounts of holiday folks connecting to their consoles at one time. This happened last year and I'm sure it'll happen more and more as we get lots of new console owners slamming the servers for updates and new games to download. Why everyone is giving the DDOS'ers fame is beyond me.

Because the hackers(Lizards Squad) did take credit for not only PSN But XBox Live as well being take down.

Yes they took credit because we gave them credit. Just because you couldn't log in doesn't mean that there weren't folks logged in. I've been watching live streams of Destiny and various other PS4 games through out the day. People are so damn quick to believe whatever helps them through the day. I'm fine with all the down votes, just goes to show you people jump to the quickest easiest conclusion.

It's the only time I had to game because of being off for the holiday. Also for seeing family I would have spent this whole time gaming with my 5 cousin too. It's our annual Madden tournament time.

those lizard muva fukers are claiming they are responsible. I'm with Karosso. If I only knew where they were I'd tell the world.
I can't see it being the fact that there are too many people logging in. This would be failing for everyone not just a certain amount of people and would users have given upby now? so potentially its freed up traffic yet we still cant login.
A volunteer at my work has himself a PS4 and he said he was coming downstairs, unwrapping his gifts, taking PS4 upstairs and no one will see him for the rest of the day; so I'with FAREEZ also

My desire to sign in moreso than usual this xmas is because my DA: Inquisition save got corrupted ūüôĀ I want to find out if there's a cloud backup and since PSN is down, I can't find out yet.

It's nerve wracking, and although I can't blame Sony for the PSN woes, I'm tired of the many times it's been down, or if not, under maintenance, this year.
