Hope you got your fill of G4TV because it'll be gone by the end of the month.
As reported by IGN , the channel originally designed to cover video games, G4TV, will go offline on November 30. NBCUniversal says it's done after two years of uncertainty.
The network hasn't aired anything original in quite a while. Although everyone remembers "Attack of the Show!" and "X-Play," these were canceled back in 2012 and since then, the channel has just aired random shows like "Cops" and "Lost." They tossed a few movies on there as well but it really didn't have anything to do with video games anymore. Personally, I'm surprised G4 lasted as long as it did.
These days, nobody turns on the TV to get their gaming coverage fix; it's all online. Prior to the rapid Internet expansion of gaming sites and communities, G4TV was pretty cool. But it soon became passe and, in some ways, kinda painful.
Does this include their international broadcasts, like the Canadian G4? They have original content here, such as EP daily and Reviews On The Run.
oh i thought this was done for already, FioS here got rid of it almost a year ago
I didn't know this still existed. :O
Good riddance. I used to love it when it was TechTV. G4, in my opinion, was pure trash.
TechTV was awesome! ScreenSavers was awesome. X-Play started out awesome. Adam Sessler is hilarious… what does he do now?
On April 2, 2014 Adam Sessler announced he was leaving Revision3 and would pursue a career outside of video game journalism.[30]
On June 9, 2014 Sessler appeared as a panelist on Spike TV's coverage of E3 2014.
Have you got Ginx on cable over there? It's here in europe and it actually is quite good. I'd almost describe it as "the MTV of gaming", back when MTV was good.
It's 100% focused on gaming, and all hosts seem to be true gamers. Shows like "first hour" where they play a title for the first time and discuss as they go. chart show of course, quite good reviews that seem to be on par with the metascores, gaming news, new trailers, coverage of various gaming tournaments, the lot across all platforms.
Recommended!

No Ginx
Suxx0r.
To be fair we have plenty of porn…
I think it was poorly made and managed top to bottom, I think you really could have a video game focused channel with the right content.
I'd do it something like the 24 hour news networks along with tribute shows, trailers, etc from web stars (who pretty much are a lot better at making movies as fans than hollyweird).
I remember watching Code Monkeys on there a long time ago. Too bad they decided to cancel it, it was a really good show.
well i didn't even know excisted so whatever
happy gaming
X-Play stopped being fun when they axed Adam. Attack of the Show! also ended up getting not-as-fun hosts. Then I didn't even have the choice to watch it.
Esquire Network hasn't brought anything new to the table. that whole network should be axed.
The problem is we gamers don't care what people in front of cameras have to say about games.
At least I don't. Give me thoughtful news and discussions online please.
Even online I rather not play any "video game news videos"
