Good thing they didn't try to start this craze during the winter.
In an effort to raise money and awareness for ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease – it seems like everyone on the planet has accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Latest on the list are a bunch of PlayStation employees, led by SCEA president and CEO Shawn Layden. In the video below, our ol' buddy Ratchet dumps a bucket of ice water on Layden's head and his fellow PlayStation execs follow suit. Afterward, Layden nominated Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick to take the Ice Bucket Challenge, as well as GameStop president Tony Bartel and PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan. Nominees have 24 hours to complete the challenge, by the way.
They're hardly the only video game peeps who have accepted the challenge. Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer accepted Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson's challenge; the latter also nominated Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski and Activision's Kotick. Kotick and CliffyB haven't completed the challenge yet, but they should!
Now, maybe whoever came up with this idea can admit that they got it from "Flashdance." Seriously, we all know it's true.
