Don't let your kids see the date. They might start filling out a Christmas list.

Disney Interactive has revealed the release date for the upcoming Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes ; it will launch in North America on September 23.

You can pre-order as of now, and doing so will net you a Starter Pack (from select retailers), and you'll also receive a Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel figurine. All characters and power discs from last year's title will be compatible with the game, which means all parents out there can heave a huge sigh of relief. Also, if you purchased the original game, you can buy the new effort digitally.

The primary competitor to Activision's immensely popular Skylanders franchise, Disney Infinity proved up to the challenge last year. Can Disney take another chunk out of Activision's acquired market share?

By figurine do they mean a simple collectible or one of the sold separately game playable figures?

I sure wish my children were younger because at 15 and 17, they want nothing to do with it.

I would play it, but not without them.. so I guess it all comes down to waiting on the grandchildren in about 10 years.
