Fans of the acclaimed TimeSplitters series have been hoping for a comeback, but as each year passes, hope continues to fade. It sucks, too, because this was one of my favorite FPS franchises.
However, Crytek UK animator Mark Jackson told Official Xbox Magazine that in fact, they aren't ignoring the fan outcry for a new entry:
"You would not believe the amount of times people ask for Timesplitters. I couldn't really comment, but there's a lot of love for it at the studio. I can't really say much more than that."
Don't forget that TimeSplitters developer Radical Design went down after the Haze debacle, and Crysis developer Crytek bailed them out, thus becoming Crytek UK. Back in 2012, the company said TimeSplitters 4 was "not in development," and it was partially because publishers just weren't interested.
Well, here's hoping TS4 will exist eventually.
They've managed to say this for an entire console generation now, they're probably just gunna keep pushing the Crysis series more and more downhill or something.
I don't get why great game series continue to be shelved while new IPs that suck get the green-light.
I've heard rumours crytek is in a management crisis,employees not getting paid on time and the like.
Loved HAZE. Makes me sad that it didn't get anything more than 7s. Never really looked too much into the reason it shutdown though. I'm guessing sales or something. Irregardless, never played Timesplitters.
I'll just wait for Timesplitters Rewind to be completed.
hate to burst the bubble, but crytek is in serious financial trouble ATM and looks like there going to go under so i seriously doubt will ever be seeing another timesplitters game.
hell even games in development like homefront 2 are in serious doubt!

It's sad though. I'm not really a fan of their games, but I know they do have a good fanbase.

It really is such a shame. Timesplitters was one of the best games of that generation and I was really looking forward to it for ps3 but it never happened. It didnt get the recognition that it deserved at all.
The timesplitters series was fun and very innovative for an fps game.
yeah difinately would bee keen as D1P for me been waiting for ages for this to come along
