Okay, so it's not a sequel. But we'll take it.
You won't find the new "Heavenly Sword" movie in theaters. It's coming straight to DVD and Blu-Ray, and it will release on September 2. Produced by Blockade Entertainment in association with PlayStation Worldwide Studios and Ratchet & Clank studio Rainmaker Entertainment, this is great news for fans of the PS3 exclusive.
The film boasts the voice work of Anna Torv, who voiced the flame-haired protagonist (Nariko) in the game. The production also stars Alfred Molina ("Spider-Man 2," "The Man Who Knew Too Little") as King Bohan, and Thomas Jane ("The Punisher," "The Mist") as Loki. For the record, Lord of the Rings actor Andy Serkis (Gollum) played King Bohan in the 2007 game. The "Heavenly Sword" film will include some bonus footage, too, including behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast and filmmakers.
You can purchase the movie from the PlayStation Network if you'd rather not have a physical copy. Me, I'm still waiting on news of Heavenly Sword 2 , which is the project I hope Ninja Theory is working on…

I'll definitely be watching this. I hope it isn't just a rehash of the same plot though like the Bayonetta one.
It is a retelling of the game.
dang, i spose ill catch it for free then 🙂
Cool. probably not quite what many wanted when they listed HS2 on their E3 Santa Claus lists this year. But it's better than nothi'n right?
Sony needs more female protagonists in their games. They gotta try and make her one of them. I love me some fiery headed badass women.
Me too, when they don't exist I make them in RPGs. As far as more females go we need an Uncharted starring Chloe.
What? No mention of Kai. She's my favorite character in the game. In the video I saw, she sounded the same. so I'll watch it. I'd rather have Heavenly Sword 2, which is a good reason to support this movie.
