Personally, one of my biggest issues with Call of Duty has always been the lack of imaginative weaponry.
Yeah, I know, it's supposed to be realistic so you can't have the arsenal you had in the Resistance series, for example. But even so, I've always wanted to see more guns like this :
Game Informer has introduced us to a variety of technology details concerning Sledgehammer's new CoD effort, and the new futuristic setting lets the developer stretch the boundaries of reality. Take the 3D Printer Rifle, for instance- it's not a gun that was created via 3D printing (which has already been done, believe it or not), but it prints its ammunition on the fly in the weapon's chamber.
That just sounds all sorts of over-powered, so we imagine there's a certain amount of time required to print that ammo. Then there's the plasma rifle, which reminds me of freakin' "Eraser," and some really slick vehicles like the hoverbike and the previously detailed exoskeleton suit.
Perhaps an environment in which the designers can get more creative is exactly what CoD needs…
