Hockey fanatics are currently enjoying an entertaining postseason. Later this year, they can enjoy their favorite sport in a virtual setting.

Today, EA Sports officially revealed NHL 15 , which is slated to launch this fall for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They tossed over a teaser trailer, too, which you can see below.

Interestingly, the next-gen versions include several features you won't find in their previous-gen counterparts. Firstly, the PS4/Xbox One iterations boast real-world physics for all 12 skaters, and EA claims that this is a first for any sports game ever . Those with the new consoles will also enjoy "completely rebuilt" puck physics, and even the surface of the ice is "live." Combined with the new puck physics, this will result in spins, bounces, rolls, etc.

We'll also receive more authentic player models on the next-gen machines as well. Said EA in a statement:

"NHL 15 delivers groundbreaking player likeness, emotion, and animation. From the strides a player takes to get up the ice to the emotion on their face after scoring a game winning goal, the players are as real as they've ever been."

Other features include: New commentators Mike "Doc" Emrick and Eddie Olczyk, a revamped Skill Stick that gives players more control, and updated arenas with an unprecedented level of detail (9,000 individual crowd models and four times the animation fidelity), etc. The PS3 and 360 versions will get a new broadcast team, an updated collision system, an NHL 94 Anniversary Mode, and a fantasy team.

Oh, and fans will be able to select their cover athlete; if you want to vote, feel free to do so now . Voting will end on June 1 and the winner will be announced during the 2014 NHL Awards on June 24. Your options are:
