“Golden Week” On PSN: Great Discounts On Japanese Titles

It's time to celebrate all things Japanese!

Thanks to the week-long holiday in the Land of the Rising Sun, Sony has announced a Golden Week sale on the PlayStation Store – yes, the US Store – that features discounts on a ton of great Japanese games.

There's a variety of titles for the PS3, Vita and PSP, and you definitely don't want to miss out. Over 20 games feature new price tags, and many of those price tags are 50 percent lower than the standard retail cost! PlayStation Plus peeps get another discount on top of that, so you can grab classics like Chrono Cross for only $3.49, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for $11.99 on PS3, and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for the PS3 for a measly $9.99.

You can check out the full list of discounted titles and take your pick. Don't forget that Plus members can now grab Velocity Ultra for the Vita for free.

I feel duped after paying full price for Symphonia.

I grabbed Chrono Trigger because I can't get the snes version to run very well on my Dreamcast.

Had to resist MGS HD.

Grabbing Atelier: Totori and Meruru for the Vita not going to bother with Aeyesha because hopefully the "Plus" Vita version will be localized this year along with Meruru. I have been wanting to try the Atelier games for a while so this sale is perfect.
Probs going to grab Symphonia because I never finished it back on the Gamecube, my memory card disappeared after I was 60+ hrs in =( and could not bring myself to start over from scratch. What sucks the most according to my friend I was heading along the story path where Kratos rejoins the party. =S

Definitely gonna grab Ys seeing as even used it is $38 at Gamestop. Probs grabbing Chrono Trigger and Cross just so I don't have to listen to crappy emulator audio anymore.

Wish Danganronpa was cheaper think I'll hold off on it for now.

Anyone here play Muramasa is it worth grabbing? Heard it is roughly 12hrs long if you play both characters.

Oh also feel I should add this if anyone has the PS1 version of Trigger and Cross if you buy those old PS2 memory card adapters for the 1st Gen PS3 the old save files will apparently work with the digital version. This applies for most PS1 classics apparently.
Now I wonder if this goes for emulator saves seeing as most PC ones simply emulate Playstation memory cards.

I hear Chrono Trigger still has the same atrocious load times as the ps1 version. shame really, 5 to 6 seconds to load in between equipment menus stops me from grabbing it

5-6 seconds?! That's really odd. I've never had that issue.

Is the guy in your avatar pic thinking about air quality?
