We love it when intriguing little games like this find success!
According to creator Mike Bithell, the indie hit Thomas Was Alone has managed to sell over 1 million copies thus far. As he said on his Twitter page :
Not bad for a crappy little Flash game."
Crappy it most definitely was not but of course, he's kidding. We just recently got a chance to review it on the PlayStation Vita, and it's definitely worth checking out . Unique and addictive, it's one of those games you just can't stop playing. However, Bithell isn't suddenly filthy rich, as the majority of those sales came through bundles, discounts, promotions, etc. As he added:
"So stop your 1mil x $10 maths right now."
The game's regular retail price is $10 but of course, he didn't make $10 million. Still, he's not waiting in any bread lines, either, and it's a notable accomplishment. He's now working on a stealth-based game for the PS4 and Vita called Volume , and we'll certainly want to try it when it arrives!
