Sony's new streaming rental service (akin to Netflix) is set to roll out this summer.

PlayStation Now is currently in a beta testing phase, and those participating in the test know about the latest update. According to a tipster speaking to DualShockers , Update 2.0 has delivered a lot more games to try.

Initially, there were only 9 available titles; now there are 19. Check 'em out:

For the record, they didn't just add titles; they subtracted a few as well. Previously available games like Puppeteer , Killzone 3 , Ninja Gaiden 3 , and MX vs. ATV: Alive are now gone. Looks like they're trying out different ones. Plus, Trophy support is active for all currently available titles.

If you're in the PlayStation Now beta, what do you think of it?

Im in. It works very well. Better than I expected and it will only get better. Was playing after only 2 minutes from selecting the PSNow icon.

Had these titles and trophy support since I started a few weeks ago. Only played a couple titles so far. Yes, it works, obviously your internet connection plays a major part of how it'll work for you.

How are you finding the image quality? are there any streaming blotches/artifacts in the image? That is the problem I have with OnLive last year.

Are the trophies actually syncing with your account? I tried a couple of times but nothing. And I thought I was tracking them up. Lol.

@Vivi there is a noticeable difference in image quality. I believe it is currently at 720p. I saw some artifacting and slight stutter. But it was definitely better than what I experienced with OnLive. I am sure it will improve. In a year or 2 it will probably be close to flawless.

Glad to hear it's working well for you guys.

While you talk about it getting better down the road, I'm worried about the initial launch flooding the servers and causing a lot of crashes and lag. Remember, this is a closed beta with a limited number of users. It will work a little smoother at this stage cause of the limited number of players accessing the service at the same time.

Regardless, I am very happy to hear things are running this smoothly early on. I hope this level of smoothness and quality of service maintains and improves over time. Gotta love Sony's dedication to quality.

I have to say though that these are not exactly the titles I would be hoping for if this is supposed to replace B/C.

True… but to be fair, I'm sure they're just testing out simple titles for now.
When the service becomes available for everyone, then I'm sure more complex titles be offered. (and probably ALL old games, eventually)

I completely agree, however over the last few years it has become clear to me that sony likes to talk big about their new console accessories, but rarely deliver enough quality support.

For example the vita. Great piece of hardware, very little triple A support even from Sony. PS Move, great quality equipment, once again very little triple A support.

Similarly Sony was recently raving about over 100 games coming to ps4 this year. Sounds good in theory, but when only 10% of your games released the first year are big budget titles, that's a little disappointing.

I just worry that this may be another supplement filled with promises that delivers only mediocre support. I hope this isn't the case, but at the same time I won't be holding my breath.

I'm in and trophies pop up but they did not sync with my trophy list. Ill try again tonight. Now works much better than I expected. Sony may have a very lucrative venture in Now. If they open up the entire library then I see no reason this won't be successful.

On the technical side I did experience some slowdown but honestly I cannot determine if it was on my side or the servers. I have Verizon FIOS and I have heard some rumblings on the internets about them throttling services such as these. All in all in I'm convinced that Sony will pull this off. I just wonder how they will integrate this with PSPlus or if it will be a completely separate service. I have been pressuring Sony for years to create a truly unlimited account level.

It will be interesting to see how DOA 5 handles. What a great game to test speed and latency!! Great pick for the beta test Sony.

Anyone here with PS Now, please reply and let me know how DOA 5 handles, and with online multiplayer too! I'm genuinely interested, an being in Australia, I can't access the service, an it might be a year or two before we see it here. ūüôĀ

Ill give it a shot and fill you in. DOA5 is definitely a good test. I wonder if multiplayer will work. Lol. Ill be extremely impressed with Sony if so.

I've considered what you said above about the current load on the servers during the Beta. No doubt there will be issues and the true test will be when Now goes live for all but I am almost certain that most issues will be resolved as Sony increases server capacity. The technology works. It just needs to be perfected. Reminds me of the time Netflix came on the scene. IQ an lag were big issues and now they are streaming in HD.

the success of this really hinges off the library of games available, and of course the quality of it.
not lag and things like that, that should not be a problem, but what im worried about is artifacting and how the picture quality is going to hold up.
afterall its kinda pointless using this thing if its going to make games look significantly worse than they would on a native ps3.
if anything they should be able to make them look a little better due to the massive servers they have at their disposal cleaning up the edges and maybe up-resing what they can shouldnt be out of the question.

my biggest concern though is the library.
strangely there is not many big first party games on that list, wonder why.
but what im more worried about is licensing for older games.
ps3 shouldnt be a problem, whoever was the original publisher either still is, or licensings been transferred over to someone else.
but what about those ps1 and ps2 legacy titles where publishers are long gone, and due to that there were no successors, so how would you revive those to bring onto the store?
who would you have to get the rights off of?
it would be a massive shame to see a really cool service like this, fall to its knees because publishers just dont want to play ball.

Didn't think it was going to be for the PS3 as well… hm… Perhaps, after the beta that is, this may be something I'll have to test out for a month.
