PlayStation Now Beta Vouchers Landing In Gamer Inboxes

Are you interested in Sony's new rental service, PlayStation Now?

If so, you'll be happy to know that Sony has sent out several rounds of voucher codes to those who were invited to the Now beta test. Various sources are confirming that indeed, they've already received their voucher and they're in.

If you're lucky enough to get one, you can download the PS Now App for your PS3 and check things out. It's only a 40MB download, but you'll have to update to version 2.0 when it's launched, and that's another 42MB. Well, big deal. The question is whether or not this service will go over well with gamers once it launches. It has been quite the controversial topic ever since it was formally unveiled; some say it's just a Netflix rental-style service, and it's no big deal. Others really don't like it for certain reasons.

What's your take on PlayStation Now? Want it? Despise it? Don't care?

I'm just interested to see how much is available to me in the beta and I'm super thankful I was asked to participate. Gotta check my email again…

I'll hafta check, but I doubt I'm in. If I was I'd just try to be open minded about it. Then it would probably fail to run on my connection anyway.

the success of this really does hinge off the library they can offer.
just ps3 games its going to really struggle but once they open it up to legacy titles thats where its really going to hit its stride and could be a real breadwinner for $ony.
that is as long as they have a good variety of both first and third party software, and more importantly a good variety of genres.
technically i cant see why this shouldnt work, network speeds have come such a long way over the few years, as long as the servers are fast and stable enough, and they have enough servers strategically placed then there really shouldnt be any issues.

Got my code yesterday and tried it out with a little Dead Island.
Worked pretty good, no major issues! I was in game in less than 5 minutes of installing the app.
Gonna give it a good testing session this weekend!
