Want a new Oddworld ? Then buy the New 'n Tasty remake.

Series creator Lorne Lanning told Eurogamer that if the upcoming remake of the classic original moves 500,000 copies, we'll get that new Oddworld adventure.

Thing is, he needs around $5 million to make it happen. The project, once called the "Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot," had been canceled, and he needs a lot of money to resurrect it. So, what about Kickstarter? Lanning's reply:

"People keep asking me, 'Why don't you Kickstart Oddworld? You could get at least $1 or $2 million.' And I'm like 'What would I do with a couple million on Kickstarter on a new Oddworld title?' Not much. I could redo Exoddus for a couple million. I could do that. But a new title, which means new characters doing new things and controls that are great – that's where the real time and expenses come from."

By the way, Exoddus was the sequel to the first title back in the original PlayStation days. The bottom line is that a conversion can be done for much less; if we're talking about a new game, built from scratch, more cash is required. If New 'n Tasty reaches 250,000, we'll receive a remake of Abe's Exoddus but I'm hoping it hits 500,000 because I've been wanting a true sequel for years.

No, Stranger's Wrath doesn't count. I want a puzzle game. New 'n Tasty will release later this year for the PlayStation 4, Wii U and PC.
