If you're not a fan of QTEs, this news is for you.

It seems the anticipated Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will give players the option to turn off Quick Time Events. As reported by SegmentNext , this option is available in the freshly available demo.

In the playable sample (which is approximately 20 minutes long), players assume the role of legendary vampire hunter, Belmont. However, in a dark twist, he has turned into Dracula, and he's fighting off a bunch of knights that are attacking his home. QTEs play a prominent role, it seems, as they're even part of the game's platforming elements. If you want to remove them, simply go into the Options menu and get rid of 'em.

QTEs are always a subject of much controversy. I never really mind them, provided they're not too overdone and they're not prohibitively annoying. But others really hate them. Lords of Shadow 2 will launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in North America on February 25, and three days later in Europe.

It's all about how you use them. The basic way that God of War always used them has become worthy of eyerolls. Which was why it worked so poorly in Resident Evil 6 and Final Fantasy XIII-2.

However, if tweaked a bit and properly integrated into a very intense scene as in Tomb Raider then Bob's your uncle.

i agree now that ive played abit of MGR the way the QTES were implemented didn't even feel like a QTE

as for LOS2 i didn't mind the QTES in LOS1 ill say its a nice option added for both types of people

I don't hate them but I'll say right now that I was extremely pissed off that I had to redo the last scene in Gos of War 2 almost 35 times. So I can't say I'm really a fan either.

I like that they are giving the option so people can choose their own style of play. I personally don't mind them, but to each their own.
QTEs just bring me back to my Dragon's Lair days. No harm in that! My reflexes are sharp.

Giving people THE CHOICE how to play is the future of gaming for me,this is a good example.
Also in many more games they should give people the choice about gamestyle:mindles action,or more stealth[or a combo of the 2] or activating/deactivating puzzle-solving,turning on/of QTE's
Some games have some of this options, but not many have enough options

I played the demo with and without QTE's I don't have an agenda versus QTE's and I completed the first LoS… imo the gameplay feels better without them.
