It's time to give credit to the all-important video game composer.
The International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) has announced the nominees for composers that demonstrated "excellence in musical scoring" in 2013. This ceremony does include a gaming category, which is Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media. Five titles were selected:
ACIV composer Brian Tyler is among four others nominated for the prestigious Composer of the Year Award. Additionally, he received a nomination for Best Original Score for an Action/Adventure/Thriller Film ("Iron Man 3"). Tyler was also responsible for the soundtrack for Army of 2: The Devil's Cartel . Previous winners for the gaming Best Score award include Austin Wintory ( Journey ), Joe Hisaishi ( Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch ), and Oscar Araujo ( Castlevania: Lords of Shadow ).
The winners will be announced on February 20. Don't forget that in our end-of-year awards , we gave Black Flag the Best Music award, 'cuz it really deserved it.
How does the grammy winner not get a nod?
