The more we hear about the upcoming single-player expansion for The Last Of Us , the more excited we get.
Left Behind will feature Ellie and her friend Riley, and it'll shed more light on the period of time before Ellie met Joel (and before Ellie was bitten by an Infected). In a new PlayStation Blog video with Naughty Dog game designer Jacob Minkoff, we learn more about the gameplay in the fresh adventure.
He makes mention of the difficulty, in that we should expect "some extremely challenging fights," and such encounters will show off the new combat features. Dubbed "multi-faction combat," this lets Ellie and Riley pit human enemies against the rampaging Infected. This allows the duo to avoid overly dangerous situations. Previously, we had heard that Left Behind would feature a more "playful" tone; well, getting humans to take on the Infected while you sneak past is kinda "playful."
As for the story, Minkoff said to expect an equally well-crafted narrative when compared to the main plot:
"With Left Behind, we wanted to make a single-player DLC that was as fully crafted as our main campaign. There's a great deal that we've done with the DLC that exceeds the level of narrative density that we had in the main campaign."
Left Behind will release on February 14 and if you picked up the DLC Season Pass, you'll get it for free. Not "free," per se, as you already paid $20 for the Pass, but you get what I mean. You don't have to pay more , obviously. And this one should be well worth the time to play!
