The latest Gran Turismo is not off to a good start in the UK.
According to sales data released by Gfk Chart-Track, first-week sales of Gran Turismo 6 only come to about one-fifth of the week-one tally for GT5. There were no specific numbers provided and we haven't yet heard about the game's performance in the US.
However, there are a few factors to consider. There's a good chance that the recent launch of the PlayStation 4 may have negatively impacted the sales potential for GT6. The new system just came out in the UK on November 29, after all. Then you have another potential problem: It's possible that GT6 might come to the PS4 in 2014 and furthermore, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has said it's possible that GT7 might be on store shelves within "a year or two." Lastly, Chart-Track's stats do not include any sales of the game made on the PSN.
As is the case with the game itself, a lot of people are overlooking critical elements of the analysis. Also, let's not forget that reviews always play a role in a game's overall sales potential and thus far, GT6 is only averaging about an 8. That's well below the franchise's normal high standards but to further elaborate on that, we point you in the direction of this article .
