It's destined to be one of the biggest – if not the biggest – PS3 title to date in Japan, and it releases next month. Minna no Golf 5 (what we know as Hot Shots Golf 5 ) will be a guaranteed seller, and Sony is very much aware of that: they'll be releasing a special PS3 bundle package to celebrate the launch of the anticipated game.
It's called the PlayStation 3 Beginner's Pack, and the box will include a PS3 along with a copy of Minna no Golf 5 . Japanese consumers will have their choice of picking up the 60GB bundle for 61,980 yen or 51,980 for the 20GB bundle. These special packages officially hit store shelves on July 26, and no, that's not a typo; Sony is continuing to sell both PS3 models in Japan.
There's one final point of interest, here. That bundle price is a pretty sweet deal, because if you bought the hardware and game separately, it would cost you almost 4,000 yen more. It seems like just about every gamer over there wants Minna no Golf 5 , and many still don't have a PS3…so this promotion should help move a lot of units. We're still waiting on an official release date for this game for the U.S. and Europe.
