JRPG fans have reason to smile. They can mark another date on their calendars.

Namco Bandai has released the North American release date for Tales of Symphonia Chronicles via Twitter : February 25! The European date is three days later, as is typically the case.

Chronicles features remasters of the original Tales of Symphonia , which was available for the PS2 and GameCube, and the sequel Dawn of the New World , which was only available on the Wii. We get a nicely overhauled visual presentation, remastered music, and other tweaks and refinements. For those who remember the games in question with great fondness, this compilation is an absolute no-brainer. Besides, look at the bang-for-your-buck value!

February could be tough, though, as a great many high-profile games could drop that month… inFamous: Second Son , for example.

Oh-ho! this game nearly had me! But then I looked online and after letting it off the 1st JRPG hurdle of over the top anime characters, it fell down at the 2nd hurdle with the visual novel style:

I just cannot stand it, rubbish, static, character portraits overlapping the characters and scenery it just breaks the immersion completely. I did hear good things about the Gamecube release, but I am afraid i'll have to pass.

You don't seem to quite understand the series.

Most definitely very niche.

Can't wait. I never had a Gamecube so they will be new to me, loved Graces F and Xillia. There are more reasons to keep playing PS3 than to switch over to PS4. I'll be getting a PS4 but it's gonna be gameless for a very long time at this rate.

My friend played it on the Cube and it is still to date one of his favourite JRPGs ever. Its apparently really long too.

to be annoying it looks like EU PS+ members are now getting Dark Souls 2.

I'd really do PS+ if I lived in EU =p

EDIT: OOps. that's a BETA. hehe yes, my mistake. Dark Souls 2 ain't even out yet.

Super excited for this. I finally beat graces f and am working on the post game stuff. Never gave tales a chance and now I'm sold on all future titles. Gonna get xillia soon too.

I had 2 friends who absolutely loved this in highschool, I never gave it a chance due to it's seemingly kid friendly nature. I was so wrong. Looks like not leaping into next gen is again proving a wise decision.

some year I'll finish Xenogears and Lost Odyssey so I'll probably never get to this. I'm pretty far in Xeno, like over half-way, so says gamefaqs. (Temjin doesn't use or need help to play jRPG's, I just like seeing what 'chapter' I'm on. You know, like books? You can feel their thickness and know how long it is. Sword of Shinnara was like massive when I was a young'n.)
