Rockstar worked as quickly as possible, and now the epic Grand Theft Auto Online might actually be playable.
Per the developer's website , an all-important update for GTAO is now available for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
The list of fixes and repairs is substantial; check 'em out-
Here's hoping that GTAO is an experience mostly devoid of massive frustration, and players can finally appreciate the vastness of the world and the possibilities within it. A game with such huge potential shouldn't be crippled by such annoying glitches, but Rockstar warned users that they should anticipate some "growing pains."

As of last night on PS3, GTAO was running flawlessly and I was having a blast. I figured I'd mainly only have fun with the free roaming, but the missions are actually very fun. You can even challenge players within free roam to a one on one deathmatch in real time. Loving it!
And if you have a friend that is on gta online in a different game. You can call him even though you are in a different play session seamlessly for $10 in-game cash. That was pretty cool.
Took a few days off. Been up about 32 hours playing GTAVO non-stop with 3 friends, who also took the next few days off. My girlfriend isn't very happy with me but GTAVO is so much fun. I'll be sure to sleep like..Sunday or something. And yes, every issue that was going on has been fixed. The overall Online mode is completely fixed, even my friend who has horrible internet is able to connect now with no problems. Warning though, it has the nasty stench of microtransactions, for people who haven't played online yet. I feel like in the coming months its going to be pay to win.
Sleep… It's for the week! XD
It's generally working fine for me now. However, I cannot get my initial car back… any idea how that works? I've already robbed all the stores, via a companion in an ape mask as my helicopter pilot.
So are all the missions in GTA Online set game modes like Deathmatch?
Nope. There are a ton of actual missions. A few I've played were: I was on a team trying to pick up evidence to deliver it somewhere, but the other team was also trying to get it to deliver it somewhere else. In another, my team just had to take out some AI guys and get some drugs to deliver. In another my team was tasked with getting a banker from the airport to his mansion while the other team was tasked with taking him out. Those are just a few examples. And of course there are Last Team Standing, regular and team deathmatch, water land and air races, parachute jumps to see who can get the most points, etc…
Glad it's workin for folks.
Have fun GTA enthusiasts. I'm waiting for Beyond Two Souls myself for next week for some awesomeness. 🙂
Keep playing!
Loved the demo. I couldn't help but think that you're supposed to be aiden (the thing?). You can choose how much you want to mess around or how little. And when the girl says, "stop aiden", it felt to me that she was talking to you. Or when she says, "go get em". I forgot what the girls name is BTW. Anyway, I knew I was going to buy this game, now I know for sure I want it.
I'm amazed at how i've played the demo twice and both experiences were different especially the train and escape part.Although i was sad that even when you ignore the prompts the story goes on.
This whole thing was a big mess and still isnt fixed. That first patch totally screwed up my single player save. I cant switch characters or start a new mission..wtf
I've been trying to install it, but the update locks up my PS3. Just goes to black screen and never recovers. So… no GTAVO for me.
Try to Delete your GTAV "Game Data" File ONLY.
Then re install disc and update.
Well, I was laughing at everyone with their problems and karma hit me. My save data messed up and now I have to start afresh xD
The Loading times are so long, by the time I can play a mission, deathmatch, or race, I lose interest. Turned me off on GTA Online
How come nothing on how horrible bf4 beta is?
Well I'm very pleased that the online is straightened out, just have to have patience. I knew RockStar would get the game fixed relatively quick.
