Quite obviously, you may find some SPOILERS here so look away if you haven't played yet…

Personally, I loved the ending to The Last Of Us . I really think it was close to perfect.

But as is the case with any decent script, there are several ideas that get ditched before the creators finalize the ending. In the past, Naughty Dog has talked about a couple secret alternate endings that were initially considered in development.

Well, here's the second one. What do you think? The plot in the game hinges on the relationship between Joel and Ellie, driven forward by Joel's tragic loss suffered at the start of the story. In the actual ending, it's clear that Joel quite simply can't give up yet another child (and of course, that's what Ellie became to him during the course of their adventure). Humanity be damned, really. There's only so far you can push a man before he finally says, "NO, you're not taking it away from me again. Not again."

Still, this alternate ending is awfully intriguing, isn't it?

Thanks, Zak!
