Grand Theft Auto V has been impressive long before any of us have gotten to play it.
The graphics had people wondering if it would be a next-gen game. The size of the world has energized the fan base. The improvements to the controls aren't getting any real push-back from gamers. The only question that lingers is whether or not the game will show up on the new generation consoles.
We still can't answer that, but maybe it will serve as some solace that Rockstar thinks that their game already feels like a next-gen experience. Rockstar's Phil Hooker tells IGN:
"When we started we knew the scope of GTA 5 was huge and incredibly ambitious. Fortunately from completing GTA 4 we had a team that was already very familiar with the hardware.
Every aspect of the game had to be better, richer in gameplay and more fluid and knowing we were launching on the same platforms meant we could focus on extracting the most out of those consoles and making the game as fantastic as possible.
In the end we surpassed our own expectations and during development I think everyone working on the game has been astounded by improvements to the graphics, or new mechanics, or AI, or mission scope along the way.
Hopefully the gamers will see all of these improvements at once in one go, compared to GTA IV this definitely feels ‘next generation’ to us.”
Well there you have it, are you ready to experience the next generation without even getting the hardware?

I'm still going to wait and get this for PS4. But I agree so for it appears to be a very polished game.
wait 6 months at least you shall.
i'd say a pc version is on the books first with the ps4 version being a direct port of that one.
I have no problem waiting. I like to buy my games one time, not multiple.
I'm lined up in the "waiting" cue too. The more we are, the sooner it will happen!

Well, Amazon knocked the price back down to 35 pounds, so I put in a Pre-order for it. I'm just replaying GTA4 – finishing some of the tasks I didnt do like Steve's Carjacking missions. It looks incredibly dated, the clarity of detail is very murky, plenty of jaggies and the draw distance is pretty weak. But the main problem of GTA4 was the content, there simply wasn't much to do outside the missions, well it looks like GTA5 is bursting with extra things to do, im quite excited to get my hands on it and just explore the new world.
Gta5 can't wait I would like 2 c it 4 ps4 but maybe there making a gta6 without telling us u kno how rockstar is lol
Getting a new tv for GTA
Can't wait.
What kind of tv
A new one
I'll probably wait for the PS4 version and when that comes the PS3 version will drop to $20 and I'll get that 🙂
I dunno. Not saying it won't come but Rockstar hasn't been exactly forthcoming with HD iterations of their PS2 games this gen. I wouldn't hold my breath for a game of this magnitude.
even if they announced a PS4 version, i'd still go for the PS3 version.
i've waited to long and don't want to wait any longer
than i have too, to play GTA V 🙂
The voice of reason has spoken! 🙂
Too many people get hung up over their own petty desires, and would rather cry a river over wanting a PC or next-gen version that may never come, even though I'm sure they will eventually, instead of buying the game on one of the platforms it's already guaranteed to release for, and simply enjoying it that way.
Get over yourselves and buy GTA V already!
Or prepare to be left behind. 😛

Well hopefully because I don't plan on getting a PS4 until next year. So GTAV adn GT6 will hold me over until I'll finally cave in. Infamous releases next year so I can wait. Killzone and Driveclub aren't enticing enough to warrant an immediate PS4 purchase. All the other multiplatform games are available on PS3 so I'm good at the moment.
Plus it seems you can even preorder a PS4 anymore lol
sounds gud for you GTA fans hopeu enjoy it i'll be saving my dollars for other things i deme more important.
happy gaming =)
hell, compared to most "next gen" games this feels next gen!
with the graphical quality presented in the trailers, and the massive landspace, airspace, hell even seaspace, is just mind blowing!
its pretty sad that a current gen game feels more next gen than pretty much every next gen game announced!
dunno if thats a testament to how disappointing next gen systems are.
or if its a testament to how truly amazing R* staff truly are!
im gonna say both.
