DICE To Introduce “Test Range” In BF4 For Rookie Pilots

Are you nervous about jumping into a complex vehicle for the first time in Battlefield 4 ?

If so, you'll want to take advantage of the "test range." DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson confirmed to IGN that this special addition will let players test out vehicles before starting an actual game. Those helicopters might be tricky, after all. Said Gustavsson:

"We've definitely heard that people are afraid of getting in there [and using vehicles like helicopters] and that’s not our intent. So what we've done is, we've added a test range, which allows you to try out all the hardware ahead of time so that if you want to learn to fly a helicopter you can get in there and you can find the settings that work best for you."

He added that you can "start doing some stunt flights" just to get a feel for the controls. This way, when you're flying over the battlefield with several players in tow, you won't be so worried about crashing and killing 'em all. You've got a lot of responsibility as a pilot, ya know? By the way, Gustavsson said they're "looking into" the possibility of Remote Play for the PlayStation Vita. However, I still say this is a game that's begging for a glorious big-screen HDTV.

I thought remote play was (kind of) mandatory for all PlayStation 4 games excluding certain games that need specific hardware such as the PlayStation Camera. I'm just wondering why they (Dice)would say they were "looking into" the possibility of remote play.

Honestly I am a fairly good pilot but planes just suck on the PS3 I always fly low to evade enemy fire because most won't chase after you when you get that low to the ground but just when you think you're set and plan your escape route a random telephone pole or tree will pop in right in front of you and clip your wing…… I hardly ever die by enemy fire but pop in I can't even count how many times I have died because of it. =S

Also if anyone wants to practice on the PS3 or 360 go under match search settings and set your search to include matches with 0+ players then select one of the matches with 0 and you can fly around to your hearts content.

I shied away form helicopters in BF:BC2 for a while but then got the hang of them…eventually. When I did, I thought I was all set for BF3, only to find out they reworked the controls for the helicopter. I stayed away for so long, but finally after playing around in empty servers, I figured it out.

Having a dedicated arena will be definitely be helpful and more convenient than practicing in/on an empty server.

Perfect for setting up your joystick on the pc – which is always the best version to buy when it comes to battlefield
