Flight fans, this is of you.
One of the most popular and acclaimed franchises is returning exclusively to the PlayStation platform. Today, Namco Bandai has announced that Ace Combat Infinity will release as a free-to-play downloadable title on the PlayStation Network later this year.
Featuring an all-new story campaign, co-op multiplayer, and "features that are important to fans," Infinity is poised to deliver. Obviously, free-to-play means it won't cost you anything to download the game, but you'll have to shell out for any additions and upgrades you may want. Said Namco Bandai Games executive Olivier Comte:
"The Ace Combat franchise has evolved dramatically over the years, but never before have we been able to offer its amazing graphics and tactical action for free."
The game will boast all sorts of extra content, although they didn't go into specific detail. Ace Combat veteran developer Project Aces is behind the project, and it's interesting that they opted to go free-to-play exclusively on the PS3. The franchise has been multiplatform for some time now, but don't forget that it all began on the PlayStation platform.
