This is exciting. I personally think that this game was the best in the series, and to see it rereleased with multiplayer is exciting.
Definitely getting this.
Soul Blade, imo.
Soul Blade had an awesome CG intro. One of, if not, thee best CGI intros ever made for PSX system.

Soul Blade had the best features and ideas but I didn't think that they were executed the best. I did love the mode where you unlocked swords and stuff.
I just think SC2 is the best of the Calibur series, and Blade well they should try and make a new game with the systems and features in blade, like breaking your weapons and having to fight with your fists 😀
While the CGI intro is fantastic and has a great score i think Tekken 2 takes the cake on this one.
Any version of this game without Link is irrelevant.
Link was a broken and poorly balance character. He was beatable sure, but he was easy to exploit and has no place in this game, none of the exclusive characters do really. Heihachi fit the most thematically, and was actually not that bad of a character but those other two spawn and link can go die. I don't want them in my game.
This should be great. Would be nice if it was bundled with Soul Calibur 3. Would love it if they did an enhanced HD remake like Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
Seems sort of odd but I think it's cool and I'm game.
What so this one by Namco isn't also 'exclusive for PlayStation 3 system'?
(sorry, can't get over that =p )
Aw man, I have been waiting for an HD collection with 2 and 3.
I thought it was the worst in the series, well excluding SCV I guess.
Unfortunately… my favorite character was Link.
Ivy takes the boobs, I mean the cake.
I know I will get some down votes for this, but the definitive version is the GC version. Link was the best guest character of all 3 versions. I think it is a shame that WiiU is not getting a HD remake of this with Link. However, from my understanding Namco did not renew any of the license for any of the special guest characters. If this is true then none of the games will have any special characters.
I don't know is online is enough to get me to purchase this game again. The fond memories I have of this game is playing with a bunch of friends on the couch drinking and having a good time, not playing a bunch of strangers who all use fights sticks and have way too much time on their hands. Honestly I have played some of the newer fighting games and it is not fun getting my ass handed to me when I don't feel like playing the computer.
The more I think about it, the more I convince myself not to get this. If I feel nostalgic and want to play this game again I think I connect my GC and boot it up.

Soul Blade was the greatest imo. Cervantes one of the most awesome battle songs ever.
Soul Calibur II is the pinnacle of the series. Many people claim it is Soul Calibur 1 for the Dreamcast but the fundamental problem is longevity – SC1 does not have weapons to unlock which really limits the replay value. But SC2 is a blessing and curse, it is such a great game but Namco have not come even close to surpassing it.
But I have spent hours upon hours leveling upon on the Quest mode. Which offers you the normal battle challenges and then adds an extra challenge to each area once you beat the game. It was huge in comparison to most other fighter. Also have Tekken's Heihachi (My favourite Tekken character) was such a bonus for the PS2, I hope he makes an appearance this time.
Just give me Soul Calibur 6 with the correct character rooster.
Huh.. and my friends from SCV were talking about them bringing the older Soul Caliburs to PSN, since Xbox already has SC1.
I also had this game for the Gamecube, unfortunately for the LoZ haters. I wonder if this means a remake of III is down the road since it was the start of Character Creation and had quite the large variety of modes.
Simple the Best Soul Calibur Ever for me, characters, soundtrack, game modes, stages, atmosphere, every thing… i couldn't be happier 🙂
I wish they would remake Capcom Vs SNK 2 HD online also
