Those who loved the first game have been anxiously awaiting this official announcement.
As part of Konami's pre-E3 briefing, the publisher revealed that Mercury Steam's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will hit store shelves this fall for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. No, it has not been confirmed as a cross-generation title. Sorry, no PS4.
Konami also gave us an exclusive debut trailer, which shows off the new modern-day setting along with several of the major characters. You also get a peek at some new foes and fresh weapons, all of which look fittingly cool. Lastly, very much unlike the first Lords of Shadow , the developer has revealed that the follow-up effort will feature open-world elements. Said Mercury Steam's Enric Alvarez:
"In Lords of Shadow 2, you'll be able to walk freely all over the game's universe without loading times and with a very organic and real feeling."
Oh, and the trailer also hints that renowned actor Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Zobek. That should satisfy the fans, don't you think?
