Harmonix does music games. Evidence of that is right there in their name.

But might we see something completely new in a matter of hours…? According to the studio's Twitter account , Harmonix is unveiling their game at some point today, and it has nothing to do with Rock Band or Dance Central .

Don't be too surprised, though. Last year, the developer was hiring for a combat designer, and there were rumors that Harmonix was actually making an action-based adventure. Of course, their bread and butter is the music genre, but that particular category of gaming has fallen off the map in recent years. At one time, it was worth billions, as Rock Band and Guitar Hero were two of the biggest names in the industry. But then came over-saturation to the max and that was that; the fad hit the skids.

So don't be too surprised if their new game isn't related to music or rhythm in any way. I'm intrigued, that's for sure.

Ben, do you think they'll showcase this game at E3 on the PS4 or the X1?

Harmonix always preferred the Xbox from I have noticed. They coded better for it and also it actually sold better. Also due to rockband network as well.

Why is this called fantasia. It is nothing like the classic Disney feature, if anything it looks like a music game that would be sponsored by the X-Factor (I think American Idol is your equivalent…)

Had they incorporated the Disney animation into it fine but one it's music only it does not justify being labeled Fantasia – It doesn't even involve classical music, just modern pop/dubstep beats. I was genuinely interested when I saw the Wizard from Fantasia's 'The Sorcerers Apprentice'. associated with it and interactive segment of Fantasia's classic animation would be so much fun. I would love to play that with the Rite to Spring. But this project, not at all.
