Kevin Conroy (Thankfully) On Board For Batman: Arkham Origins

A lot of people say you can't have a Batman game without Kevin Conroy.

That's why early reports that Conroy wouldn't be involved in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins got fans all riled up. Include the fact that Rocksteady won't be developing this new entry, and you had some pretty disgruntled followers.

But hankfully, according to Pixel Enemy , those initial reports appear to be wrong. During a Q&A session at Dallas Comic-Con, Conroy revealed that he has been working on "the next Arkham game" for the past ten months or so. The reason he couldn't talk about it before was due to the non-disclosure agreement he had signed. During his time on stage, however, Conroy praised the new effort, calling it "an unbelievable game" with a "huge cast and big story."

And besides, Warner's internal team that's handling Origins probably knows what they're doing. Chances are, we'll get a damn good game in October.

Damn, I was kind of hoping he wasn't coming back. Conroy was AMAZING in B:TAS, but he's been the weak link in these Arkham games. Very wooden performances. Maybe someone else could have done better. But I'm glad 'the fans' won't have another reason to gripe. These people feel more entitled than those Section 8 chicks.

Wow. So much that's wrong with that. Batman has a long history of excellent voiceacting and that definitely includes both Arkham games. This is very good news for Origins.

I only played the first Arkham but I agree that Batman's voice was not good in that one. He didn't sell the character and came off cheesy.

Oh yeah? well… uh… Nolan North as Brutus isn't cutting it for me on Mob of the Dead, XP, In all seriousness though even if that were the case its not Conroy's fault entirely. Andrea Romano (voice director of Batman: TAS) is a damn good director too.

Well, he did suck, without question. No matter what the situation, the line was delivered in a disconnected, monologue, type fashion.

And Roger Craig Smith IS still confirmed for Batman: Arkham Origins with Troy Baker as The Joker. Conroy may have been talking about another Arkham project. So, let the complaining commence!!

im sure it will be a great game, but will it be a batman game?
arkham city lost its soul, and im really skeptical of this gaining it back.
batmans about hiding in the dark, utilizing his multitude of gadgets, as the villains say what DONT you have on that belt!?
not flying around buildings beating the snot out of people!

I am extremely happy to hear that Conroy will be reprising his role as the voice of Batman. I am hoping that Hamill will surprise us all and voice the Joker once again, as he has masterfully done in the past.

That's funny, because I heard the exact opposite of this report.

Conway tweeted a clarification tweet after the Dallas Comic-Con stating that he was doing the next Arkham title AFTER Origins.

Roger Craig Smith, the guy who voiced characters like Chris Redfield and Ezio Auditore was confirmed by Warner Bros., no less, as the voice actor for Batman in Origins.

But the tweet Conway made with the clarification has since been deleted, likely at Warner Bros.' request.
