Well, the hardcore followers will just have to put their anticipated purchase on hold.
When Konami first announced Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection , it was scheduled to launch some time in June. However, they've now issued an official date and it won't be ready to go until July.
This comprehensive compilation will be available at retailers in North America on July 9 for the very agreeable price of $49.99. This collection celebrates the 25th anniversary of the esteemed franchise and features Metal Gear Solid , Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition , Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (including the original MSX versions of the first two titles), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition , Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition . All sorts of HD goodness! Furthermore, we get a couple digital Ashley Wood graphic novels for the first two MGS games.
This is an absolute must for the die-hard fans.
I'd buy it if i didn't already own all those game.
Yet Bethesda releases a half ***ed job for $60. I'm talking about the Skyrim legendary(?) edition.
sold. i never bought the collections but i have 4. still have not played peace walker yet so thats a bonus. good deal right there.
I consider myself a die-hard MGS fan. But I se absolutely no reason in this release, it's probably cheaper to get MGS1 off the store and pre-owned copies of the HD collection and MGS4. Had they re-released Twin Snakes the Gamecube remake in HD, I would have considered it.
This is such a nice deal and as a full blown Metal Gear fan I feel obligated to pick this up. But isn't that what the last HD collection was for? It seems there's always a remade version of every MG game at some point or another. I already own the original version of each of these games so I'm a little torn on how to feel right now.
