Maybe you saw this coming.

According to sources speaking to Kotaku , TimeGate Studios has disposed of its entire staff.

Yep, fired 'em all, apparently. But it isn't exactly surprising, as the developer filed for bankruptcy just last week. This also comes about a month after the developer lost a fraud appeal case against Southpeak Interactive, which means a loss of $7.35 million in damages and the loss of the Section 8 license. And as most of you know, TimeGate was involved with the travesty that was Aliens: Colonial Marines , which met with widespread critical disgust. A whole lot of finger-pointing between Sega, Gearbox and TimeGate went on immediately after.

So this really wasn't going to end well. For the record, TimeGate Studios was founded back in 1998 and created the RTS series Kohan . They also produced the 2004 strategy title, Axis & Allies , based on the board game of the same name. Now…well, times are tough.

Laid the smack down. Bam. Probably shouldn't have released that game.

Gearbox really kind of just threw them under a truck with this.

Shame on them.
