Madden 25 Cover Vote Features An Epic New Vs. Old Clash

It has become common practice to let the fans decide the cover athlete for the new Madden . But this year, it's all sorts of interesting for one reason…

That's because we're celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legendary franchise (and I still can't believe it has been that long), and the voting is "New School vs. Old School." The final round pits Detroit Lions record-breaking – and ankle-breaking – running back Barry Sanders against current Minnesota Viking superstar running back, Adrian Peterson.

Cast your vote now and let your voice be heard. Sanders just squeaked past another Hall of Famer, San Francisco 49ers receiver Jerry Rice, to get to the final round. Peterson had an easier run, earning 64% of the votes in the semifinals against fellow RB Arian Foster. So now the epic showdown is set and it's time to determine the winner. I'm sorta hoping Sanders wins because he was always a beast in the old Madden games, and it'd be nice to celebrate 25 years with him on the cover.

But one could make a pretty solid argument for Peterson, too. And of course, being a 49ers fan, I say it should've been either Rice or Montana (greatest tandem ever ), but oh well.

Im a Green Bay fan and I can honestly say theres no better athlete in the world. Hes a freak of nature. He healed from a horrible knee injury that most never fully recover from and when I say most Im talking about all the other world class athletes playing with and against him, not the normal person. Not only that but he's the one and only reason the Vikings were where they were last year. He carried that whole team with a knee that literally stopped him one year prior. On top of all that hes just a great guy. Hes got my vote "all day"!

Sanders is world class no doubt. He's the Best Running Back to have played the game. If he wouldnt have retired when he did, he would have all sorts of records. AP is bound to break most of them now, and I hope he does. I was rooting for him in that final game of the season against the Packers! I really wanted him to have that record!

This is no contest, Barry Sanders would make most current day RBs look like wimps.

And I was never a Lions fan.

MVPeterson!!
It was really too bad that a Hall of Famer like Sanders never even got to play in a Super Bowl.
The Vikings better get their act together (*cough…Ponder) so a future Hall of Famer like Peterson doesn't share the same fate!
As a Vikings fan, even seeing them play in a Super Bowl in my lifetime would be great, but one with AP would be amazing! Skol!

Adrian Peterson is one of only 2 RBs today that I would even consider comp for Sanders. I still have to ride with Barry though
