Just because parts of the game look like some marionette's acid trip doesn't mean it's unappealing. In fact, that's precisely what makes it so darn interesting on many levels.

It was initially revealed last year, and now we've got a release date for the promising Puppeteer . During a recent demo at GDC, Sony confirmed a date of September 10 for the PlayStation 3.

Art director Gavin Moore said the date was right after showing off a promotional trailer. The game wil be available on Blu-Ray disc as well as a digital download, as you probably anticipated. Puppeteer may remind you of LittleBigPlanet , with its wacky settings and 3D side-to-side platforming. You play as a boy who was turned into a wooden puppet, and you must defeat the evil Moon Bear King, who made away with a princess. That princess is, unsurprisingly, the love of the boy puppet. The cool part is that the stage settings change in real time as you progress.

I think Sony should have announced this title for PlayStation 4 instead. Would have received more attention…

I fear it'll just go unnoticed come September with Grand Theft Auto and Rayman releasing. *sigh*

Looks great though! Can't wait to try it.

This game looks great! Can't wait to see the final game…

Damn there are so many great PS3 games coming out this year, who will have time for the PS4 too??

It's just really odd timing from Sony, especially looking at how bare-bones 2012 was…
