Many consumers are waiting for a PS3 price drop, but in the meantime, some retailers are doing what they can to promote the system. The latest is Circuit City, which began a promotion this past holiday weekend that should help push some PS3 units.

The promotion is simple: if you buy the PS3, Circuit City will throw in a free wireless Sixaxis controller with your purchase; a $50 value. PSXE confirmed this with a quick call to the retailer, who also clarified this promotion only runs through this week, so after Saturday, you're out of luck.

While it seems more and more obvious that Sony should be dropping the price of their console this year, you can probably expect more promotions this summer. PS3 sales will likely increase with the impending price cut, but up until that happens, we'll stay on the lookout for special store promotions.
