Ben-DutkaMany have just assumed that the next Gran Turismo entry will be on the PlayStation 4.
But that might not be the case.
According to what Sony Worldwide Studios vice president Michael Denny told Silicon Republic , Gran Turismo 6 appears to be PS3-bound.
In speaking about how Sony will continue to support the PS3 (and the PlayStation Vita) in the coming years, Denny wanted to remind everyone of the games that are still on tap for this generation, so he had this to say:
"Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3 like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, and then on the third-party side of things another fantastic Assassin’s Creed, GTA."
Denny added that it's important for their content "to have that kind of longevity" because the games will just keep getting better and better over time. I suppose it's possible that GT6 will come to both the PS3 and PS4 but for now, the only pseudo-confirmed platform does appear to be this generation's PlayStation console. Still, wouldn't it be totally nuts if GT6 ended up being a PS4 launch title or something…?

If I had to guess I would guess the ps3 and ps4 versions. But who knows? Maybe they are already working on GT7 too?
They are already pushing the PS3 near its death. Heck, even the bad shadows can't be fixed. I doubt physics and visuals can advance any further. That said, unless PD is willing to release two GTs with different sets of physics, A.I., and features, it just doesn't make sense.
Visuals is the only thing that can trade off between two generations of consoles without sacrificing overall quality of the game, so if they're releasing GT6 for the PS3 and PS4, the PS4 version will surely get held back by the PS3 version.
I never mind a GT6 for the PS3, but they can't bother with two different version for each generation. If it's going to be GT6 for the PS3, then it's GT7 for the PS4, in all of its glory.
This will probably release on both PS3 & PS4 !!
I read on gamezone that watchdogs is confirmed for wii u, xbox 360,PS3 & PS4…seems like its a current gen game with fancy graphics for PS4/PC!
Star wars 1313 will probably follow suit,wonder what other games will have a cross platform release…GTA 5 ??

Remember the old days when you had the same titled game on the SNES & SEGA megadrive/genesis but they were two completely different games??

I remember playing The force unleashed on my ps2 and then later getting it on ps3.
Same story but gameplay very different. Both fun!
GT6 needs to be a PS4 title. I remember poly saying things like the PS3 didnt allow them to do what they wanted with GT5, thats why I say the next entry should be a next gen title.
But im willing to bet it comes to both consoles, so no worries.
I'm betting there was already too much time and money invested in a PS3 game and it would be a pain to change to the new architecture. This way PS3 gets 2 entries and GT7 can come out later on PS4 with a significantly shorter development time.
I HOPE the same applies to AGENT & The Last Guardian.
Converting cell architecture coding to X86 may not be as painful as you might think. It may be the other way around though, especially for the inexperience. That said, if GT6 is to be released for the PS3, it won't be because of this reason.
Do note that GT6 have yet to be announced for which console it will come to. Agent and Last Guardian has been announced for the PS3, so GT6 doesn't have that sort of burden to worry about.
I don't think they can do much more with the ps3!!! They should release it at least for both platforms!!! I want my gt6 at full 1080p @ locked 60 fps with all cars premium!!!;)
Yea I dont see the sense in releasing it strictly for PS3. Poly said they felt GT5 wasnt finished a lot, due to restrictions so…
Then crappy port it is! come on guys, doesn't time logic mean anything anymore? PD started working on the GT6 before Sony released dev kits. Does no one remember how long it took them to release GT5? How much longer you think you'll have to wait for them to properly recode the whole thing for the new console?
F—, I was hoping to see GT6 on PS4 in all its' glorious graphic glory. This is disappointing.

What me don't comprende is why on earth is Sony about to release a backward compatibilityless console when we still have AAA titles coming our way?
Polyphony need to figure out a business model to release the same quality GT game within a 3 year period rather than every 5 or 6 years.
More developers, programmers and general staff at Polyphony? A few less cars, but all ones included are premium?

That's right. The amount of premiums solely depends on how many they can get modeled in time. If say, we got rid of the standards in GT5, we'd still be around 200 premiums in the game.

there are 2 games that always sell a metric sh*t ton for playstation, that is MGS and GT.
to launch a new platform without either of them, especially when both games have already been announced, would be SUICIDE!
it would be better off for them the other way around, have these games only on ps4.
so that way people buy a ps4, otherwise they dont play them.
if your going to offer GT6 on both ps4 and ps3 people are going to say ok the ps4 version has better graphics, but 500+ dollars better graphics as id have to buy the system.
yea they would be loosing a few sales keeping it ps4 exclusive, but hopefully at least a few of those lost people will give in and buy it for ps4.
new consoles ALWAYS struggle at the start because they have so few games, and fewer really good must have games!
so a GT game as a launch title would be a MASSIVE advantage!

Not sure about suicide, but yes lol. If Sony wants to compete head to head with Mircosoft early on, Sony better gets Gran Turismo in gear. I'm pretty sure Microsoft has Forza all reving and ready to launch for their next console.
this doesn't surprise me in the least. Sony also knows that GT is part of Sony's identity and their users already expect a GT to be part of the PS4 experience. At most I suspect we'll see another tech demo style offering of GT for early PS4 adopters. Sony will unleash the full package when there's plenty of PS4 fish swimming in the sea, and of course when such a massive project is ready.
No, I am disappointed. We have GT5 on PS3 already no need for GT6 on the PS3 alone. I am hoping they include the PS4 as well. I understand it will sell a lot of copies on the PS3 however GT6 would be an incredible system seller on the PS4. I am holding out hope for a PS4 release. If this happens that is what I will purchase it for.
GT6 on PS3 and even PC4 is good with me, so long as Evolution and PD don't eat each others audience.
As long as Sony doesn't pull a "here's GT6 for PS3 only", then turn around a few months later after the game is released and say "oops, I guess PD made a version for PS4 too".
I want GT6 on PS4 if at all possible, that way it's as good of an experience as we can get from PD until they get used to developing games for the PS4.

I've been discussing this matter at several other sites. I'm actually surprised PSX had it up this early.
I don't want to sound too blunt, but I very much doubt GT6 will be for the PS3 at this point. Also from sources I've grown to trust, they've doubt it as well. If it was for the PS3, then they would've already mentioned it sometime ago. Instead, even to this day, we don't know. It's not exactly a game that hasn't been talked about.
We've known that it was coming and Kaz even said they've started work on it even before GT5 was released in retail stores. How can a game this known not get a clear indication on what console it's coming to? Add that to the fact that Kazunori and PD were one of Sony's key developers in the design of the PS4. That adds merits on the fact that they've been aware of the PS4 for some time now, so he may very well be talking about GT6 being made with PS4 devkits back then.
By the time this game gets announced or released, it will be well into the PS4's time. It's a waste of the most sold PS exclusive title, if Sony wants to sell as many early PS4 units as possible. For one, I'll surely get the PS4 early if I know a next gen GT will come early. However, if they plan to release GT6 for the PS3, and like a half-made GT7 for PS4, I may just wait till the next full blown GT game. GT6 for both PS3 and PS4 is out of the question for me.

You nailed it to with your GT6 on the PS4 explanation too. Kaz and PD developed GT6 on their PC's all the while knowing that the PS4 was fully going to be like a PC.

Lol, right. I didn't want to risk any names because he's that good. There was also this one random guy, if you know what I'm talking about? He made a thread about GT6 revealing on E3 for the PS4, as well as the absence of standards and Top Gear license.
And heck yea. It doesn't matter where GT6 will land. I'll get it. If Sony wants me to get the PS4 early though, they better get in on the console!

I'm going to have to look up this "source"'s info, because you guys have my interest piqued now. I don't actively look for gaming inside info, I usually stick to this site, the ps blog, ign, and ps3t.org for my gaming news.
I just hope you guys are right and we get GT6 on PS4. I am ready to get another GT platinum on my PSN profile to brag about, lol.

i am betting it will come out on both, the ps3 version will look like gt5 with enhanced gameplay and all that jazz, the ps4 version will have updated and better visuals as it has tesselation and DX11 along with SOOOO much more ram for PD to work with, so the ps4 version should look AMAZING in comparison.
