You know, they're right. We really haven't seen a good demolition derby game in a while. I miss it.
Bugbear Entertainment, the team that brought you FlatOut and Ridge Racer Unbounded , is apparently working on their "next car game" and as you can tell from the teaser video, there will be lots of crashing involved.
The video shows off some slo-mo crunching thrills and the game's website says that "there hasn't been a proper demolition derby game in years." This title will be headed to PC and "other platforms," so we'll just assume they're talking about either the PS3 or PS4. It seems the fans have been asking Bugbear to return to their roots and the designers are listening. However, for the record, if you're looking for a decent derby fix, you might want to look into Mayhem 3D .
That game was fun .

Just play burnout paradise with 7 of your mates or enemies,meet up in the wildcats stadium and smash the feck out of your cars!!
Or you could play Dirt Showdown…..that was a great DD and racing game. You can get it dirt cheap right now….see what I did there.

LOVED ridge racer unbounded, one of the most creative and fun games ive played in a LONG time!
id love to see them do ridge racer unbounded but in a open world, with massive jumps and a high emphasis on taking out rivals like burnout paradises rage mode.
sad 6 years on, and were still calling out for a new game like burnout paradise!

especially considering how successful it was, both critically and commercially!

Ah, Destruction Derby. I remember this. And its return is like a sign of rebirth for Playstation.
Maybe they should look elsewhere, aren't there rumors of Criterion revisiting Burnout Paradise? That would surely be the ultimate 'demolition derby' game…
