Sadly, we've lost a really great voice actor.
The man who brought Mass Effect 's Zaeed Massani and Dragon Age 's Lord Pyral Harrowmont to life has passed away. Robin Sachs, accomplished voice actor who lent his talent to a number of popular video games, is dead at the age of 61.
Sachs also played Admiral Saul Karath in the critically acclaimed Knights of the Old Republic , and had various roles in plenty of venues outside of the interactive entertainment industry; he was in "Galaxy Quest," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Ocean's 11," and "The Lost World: Jurassic Park." We don't know why Sachs passed on, as his death has only been described as "sudden and unexpected." BioWare pays their respects by saying:
"Our thoughts are with Robin's family and friends during this difficult time, and we thank him for bringing Zaeed to life in the way that only Robin could."
Whatever the reason for his passing, 61 is still far too young. At the very least, though, he left a worthy legacy and gamers everywhere have appreciated his contributions to their favorite hobby.
Only 61? Now I kinda wish I paid him some attention in ME2, but he wanted me to kill innocents.
He was 1 year older than me.
It just brings it all home that we're all just here as mere mortals.
R.I.P. Robin Sachs
I absolutely adored Zaeed in Mass Effect. Even though his morals were wrong, he was there to fight at my side and support me.
This man had a great voice, I'm very sad.
R.I.P.
I just watched Galaxy Quest. Sad news.
