It's sad news indeed, but at least his work will always be remembered. A+, my friend.

Developer Quantic Dream has bid farewell to accomplished composer Normand Corbeil, who unfortunately passed away. His first job with the talented team involved co-composing the score for Indigo Prophecy ; then he went on to be the lead composer for Heavy Rain , and he had started work on Quantic's latest project, Beyond: Two Souls . Corbeil was 56.

"Normand was not only one of the most talented composers of his generation; he was a formidable person, kind and humble," reads part of the developer's statement. Corbeil's son, Laurent, told Polygon that his father lost a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Corbeil was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 ("Hitler: The Rise of Evil") and 2006 ("Human Trafficking"), and his work for Heavy Rain earned him the Original Music award at the 2011 British Academy Video game Awards. The awards will well-deserved.

Goodbye, Normand. You gave gamers some fine music and we certainly appreciate fantastic music. Thanks.

This was very sad to hear. I adore the Heavy Rain score and even bought it. He composed some amazing themes. Especially Painful Memories, what a beautiful song.

My thoughts go out to his family, and although I didn't know the man, his music really resonated strongly with me. His work was fantastic, and I'm sure he was a fantastic guy as well.

That is unfortunate. The HR score riveted me. The nice thing about art is that when you pass a little piece of yourself onto others you achieve a little bit of immortality.

This is tragic to hear. He had helped contribute to Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit's amazing and moving soundtrack, as well as Heavy Rain's and the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls. My thoughts as well go to his close family and friends who are dealing with his untimingly passing.

Very sad news. Pancreatic CA is one of the most deadly types of cancers out there. Patients do not survive very long at all. Micheal Landon and Patrick Swayze both died from pancreatic cancer as well. World is correct when he says his spirit will live on forever in his creative works.
