We knew it was coming to Japan on April 25 ; now we know it'll be available in North America and Europe at the same time.

As the press release announced, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will launch in North America on April 23 and all across Europe on April 26; this new updated version can be purchased in physical disc form or as a digital downloadable file. There are new missions, new enemies, and a brand new area to explore!

Check out Bitterblack Isle where gamers will embark on an all-new quest to discover an underground kingdom, which of course includes never-before-seen enemies and special treasure. Those who have played Dragon's Dogma in the past will be able to export their existing characters and all other saved data so they can continue their journey in Arisen . You'll get even more powerful, too, thanks to fresh "high-level skills and augments" along with new weapons and armor. Plus, if you own the original game, you'll receive 100,000 Rift Crystals, unlimited Ferrystones and the Gransys Armor Pack. Cool bonuses!

A lot of this expansion was based on player feedback, too, so the developers have made improvements to the experience, such as easier travel and a "more intuitive menu system." If you're a role-playing fan, you should definitely check this out!

Well alright then! I'm glad I held off on picking this one up for a while! Nice late birthday for me!

I don't think this has the original with it. I think it's a separate game based on the original, like Dragon Age Origins Awakening.

it is just a expansion, your probably still going to need the original game.

I had the same question. Bens earlier article makes it seem a little like it did include the original, but this one clears that up a bit. Thanks for the clarification guys.

"This new updated version can be purchased in physical disc form or as a digital downloadable file."

Maybe Ben can clarify, but it sounds like it's a reprint or something? I mean, if it's not, and you buy it in disc form, then you have to swap discs to use the new content? That would be unusual for anything on the PS3….

EDIT: According to Joystiq, Dark Arisen includes the original title….?

@TheAgingHipster, just found that Joystiq article, I see what you're saying. Looks like this is more of a re-launch, and includes the original game as well.
