Assassin's Creed is one of the most popular and acclaimed franchises of the generation. So what will the movie be like?
We'll have to wait a while to find out, but at least we know the project has a writer now. According to The Hollywood Reporter , British playwright Michael Lesslie is on board to pen the script.
Lesslie wrote "Prince of Denmark" for the theater, which was a sequel to Shakespeare's legendary "Hamlet." Lesslie is also responsible for some short films, including "Skirt" and "Heavy Metal Drummer." Making the leap to feature films and writing a script based on Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed should make for an interesting venture, and it's encouraging that they tapped someone with theater experience. Perhaps that will assist in adding some stage-quality emotion and drama to the movie, which could really benefit from such elements.
However, New Regency and Ubisoft are still looking for a director and producers for the project, so there's no knowing when the film will actually be released. Just gotta be patient, I guess.
I also heard you have to be really quiet in the theater or the ushers will gang up on you and kill you.
