Okay, you've voted and now the cover athlete for MLB 13: The Show has been determined.

Congratulations to All-Star Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen, who had a fantastic season last year and became quite the fan favorite ( as you can see ). McCutchen garnered over 100,000 votes in the five-day poll to earn cover honors for Sony's latest baseball simulator. A Pirates player!

New York Yankees ace pitcher C.C. Sabathia came in second with just under 90,000 votes and Detroit Tigers third baseman and Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera wound up third with around 76,000 votes. It's kinda cool to see a Pirates player on the cover, though; that team has made some decent runs the past couple of years and I keep hoping to see them make it to the postseason. It has been a while, after all; over 20 years now. The last time Pittsburgh made it to the postseason was in 1992 before they traded Barry Bonds.

But anyway, McCutchen will appropriately grace the cover of MLB 13: The Show , which will launch on March 5 for the PlayStation 3 and Vita.

Nice to see someone from a non-uber-payscale team take the cover. Awesome player you don't hear about much. Congrats to Pirates fans!

I agree. I know a lot of people always want to see the same people always get the attention in these matters, but I like to see a fresh and deserving new face once in a while. I am also a life long fan of some very successful franchises, but I'm not as disappointed to see teams that don't usually make it into the postseason make it over my team on occasion.

Good choice! I skipped last years game partly because of Adrian Gonzalez being on the cover and not being able to stand looking at a red sox uniform every time i would want to play the game.

GO RAYS!

In Canada, we had Jose Bautista on the cover. 🙂

Go Jays! 😉 I have a feeling this year will be between our teams. Not the others.

i certainly hope so however, i am not going to count out the orioles, but i do think the red sox spent a lot of money to be mediocre and the yankees are just climbing up that age ladder, but you never know, it should be a wild ride.
