Are your fingers fast enough?

Rock Band Blitz is an old-school music game along the lines of Frequency and Amplitude and if that's your bag, you should test your reactions and skill in the new tournaments.

Harmonix has added the option to enable those tournaments over at the Rock Band World Facebook page (as revealed in the Rock Band forums ). Three different tournaments will be hosted each week; each will focus on one particular song and you can play it as many times as you wish. If you can manage to place in the top two (good luck with that) or you're one of three randomly selected winners, you'll nab "free DLC and other great prizes." They're kicking things off this week with "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" by Elton John, "Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)" by Stephen and the Colberts and "Shout" by Tears for Fears.

The tournaments will run through March 13. I've managed to five-star every song you get with the initial soundtrack, and I've even changed 17 of those to Gold star rankings, but I seriously doubt I can handle the wackos who play this all the time. I only play it when I don't have time to play anything else. Plenty fun and entertaining, though.
