Capcom came under fire last year for hiding DLC on game discs and later charging irked users to unlock it.
It first happened when gamers noticed that 12 new characters were included – but locked – on the Street Fighter X Tekken disc. The publisher then tried to explain that on-disc DLC was no different than any other form of extra content.
Well, consumers didn't buy that explanation, and they weren't happy when Capcom did it again with Resident Evil 6 . But maybe Capcom has learned their lesson, as they just confirmed to TheSixthAxis that the upcoming Devil May Cry reboot will not feature on-disc DLC. So when you go pick up your copy of DMC on January 15, you won't have to worry about new content actually being on the disc, which you'd have to pay for at a later date. …yes, we can see how that'd be a little annoying. If it's on the disc, lemee see it!
Anyway, we're hoping the game in question turns out to be as great as we anticipate. Expectations are high, Ninja Theory, so don't let us down!
