It's the holiday season, and that means it's time to get some wacky bonus items.

Naughty Dog is celebrating by giving away some pretty cool Uncharted 3 multiplayer goodies , a few of which might raise some eyebrows.

They've got a new map called "Block Mesh Lab," which is comprised entirely of polygons and created by former Naughty Dog staffer Richard Lemarchand. It looks totally screwy but it might be wicked fun to play. Then there's the free custom avatar items, which include a "present head" hat and a t-shirt with studio co-president Christophe Balestra posing as an elf. …seems like the dudes and dudettes at our favorite developer have been hitting the egg nog a tad early, wouldn't you say?

Oh, but we appreciate it, of course. And gamers will appreciate it all the more when they learn that these bonus items are totally free through January 8. Well, you can't expect to get holiday freebies when it's no longer the holidays! That's only logical.

You aren't missing out. It was fun for the first few months. But now only the elitists are left, which makes competitive no longer fun. While Coop got boring rather quickly…

I'm burnt out from after reaching the last Legacy. After they allowed every treaure and weapon to be bought out rather than earned, along with the whole stats issue, it lost it's original motive.

While I seriously don't care for these pointless extras (including the 'tornament' and the treasure sets), and I find the Block Mesh maps not very well designed, Uncharted 3 multiplayer is still seriously fun. I much prefered Uncharted 2's multiplayer but the kickbacks and the updated physics engine are pluses.

I still feel cheated after buying the 'Season pass' thingy though. Only two map packs? The f*ck Naughty Dog? Last time I buy any kind of season pass again…

To be honest I think the new people they employed on the multiplayer side of things weren't the best (as is generally the case with the rest of the Naughty Dog staff).
