It's hardly written in stone but it appears to be a possibility.

Ubisoft Brazil managing director Bertrand Chaverot told Techtudo that the next Assassin's Creed installment will adopt Brazil as its setting.

If you've played through Assassin's Creed III , you know there were a few missions set in South America, so this may not come as a huge shock. However, to have an entirely new entry centered on Brazil seems like a somewhat odd choice, especially considering the previous locations: Medieval Constantinople, Italy during the Renaissance, and the Revolutionary War in this country. Perhaps Brazil has some great history of which I am currently unaware, but it's hard to believe that it can compare – at least on the prestige scale – to the previous environments.

Where would you like to see the next assassin go? What time period would you be most interested in learning more about and virtually experiencing?

The French Revolution please 🙂 there can be a few narrative parallels or connections to ACIII considering the French Revolution happened merely several years after the American Revolution.

That and I'd love to see historical figures such as Maximilien de Robespierre and Napoleon de Bonaparte!

Overall the French Revolution is one of the most fascinating periods in history in my opinion. I loved learning about it in school.

Russia. Exit of the dynasty and the end of Czars. Expansive and beautiful land/wilderness. And incredible architecture.

Anastasia's whereabouts are still a mystery. Imagine what they could do with her. Perhaps she is the next assassin, even! Or perhaps merely an ally?

I personally would love to see a modern-day AC (without Desmond) set in the future by maybe 20-30 years. Weapons would include the hidden blade, a hidden, , wrist-mounted retractable silenced pistol (a la Deadshot), and maybe more wrist mounted ballistic weapons, maybe even a hidden ballistic knife?

Or if that never works out, maybe the 1920's era USA? All those buildings and smokestacks and factories, plus the introduction of Prohibition and the Jazz Age. I think it would be pretty unique, and a fresh history lesson.

I don't really like the idea of a future AC, but the twenties sounds really interesting. The only problem I see with a twentieth century setting is the weapons. The story could be very rich but the gameplay would be a lot different if all the bad guys had tommy guns.

If the next AC is in Brazil, I wonder if there will be capoeira combat. That'll be interesting an interesting gameplay feature.

*SPOILERS*

Yes, there was one that took place in Sequence 9, where you play as Desmond in order to retrieve the second power source. Specifically it was set during modern day Brazil.

Why not? I tough AC3 set on the US was the most stupid idea they had. What could have been more dull for the rest of the world and me, an ancient history lover? But look at how it turned out, pretty good…
Being Brazilian I would ratter have something like GTA or Driver set there. Enough crime and corruption to make a very realistic and up-to-date GTA, but I will hold my judgment for now.
@ Ben Brazil does have a very rich history. How many colonies do you know that became the seat of its empire, with the royal family and all nobility living there, whose new king was crowned there and was elevated to "sovereign Kingdom united with its motherland?"
I still would rather see it on a more ancient time, maybe China…
