It has been the best baseball simulator for the majority of this generation, so fans should be excited to hear about the new upcoming installment.
MLB 13: The Show will launch for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on March 5, 2013, the now-customary date for this vaunted franchise. And the fans are gonna decide the cover athlete.
As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , for the first time ever, gamers will determine the cover athlete for the MLB series. The "Cover Campaign" will kick off in early January and obviously, some of the most recognizable names in the sport will be featured. You can expect guys like Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera, the hard-hitting Miguel Bautista, NL MVP Buster Posey, Dodger All-Star Matt Kemp, and the guy who made the Pirates fun to watch, Andrew McCutchen.
As for the game, it will boast an All-New Playoff Mode, and they're saying it'll offer an experience that is "unrivaled by anything The Show has ever exhibited." We'll also see a totally new Beginner mode and "instructional enhancements," an improved Play Now mode, and expanded options in the popular Franchise and Road to the Show modes. Last but not least, MLB 12: The Show was one of the first titles to let you pick up where you left off – going from PS3 to Vita – and MLB 13 will let you do the same.
Baseball season can't get here fast enough!
