Think you know what a gaming marathon is? Yeah, well…check this sh** out.
According to News.com.au , a 28-year-old man in Sydney, Australia played Call of Duty: Black Ops II for 135 hours, 50 minutes straight . If upheld as a legitimate time, it smashes the previous Guinness World Record by over 15 hours.
Okan Kaya had trouble attracting sponsors from retailers due to their unwillingness to support "addictive gaming," but Kaya's employer – 4Cabling – let him use a company meeting room to have a shot at the record. Witnesses were summoned every four hours and video footage of the entire event needed to be recorded; that is all on the way to Guinness for confirmation right now. They will announce whether or not Kaya actually set the world record at some point in the coming weeks. The mark was previously held by two Canadian gamers, who each recorded 120 hours and 7 minutes.
By the way, in case you're wondering, Guinness allows 10-minute breaks every hour, so that isn't too bad. Still, 135 hours is more than a little ridiculous. Just sayin'.
